Samburu National Reserve
Wild, Remote, Remarkable
Samburu National Reserve, set along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River in northern Kenya, is a rugged, semi-arid wilderness celebrated for its unique wildlife and vibrant cultural heritage. The reserve is home to the rare “Samburu Special Five”; Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and beisa oryx ,species found only in northern Kenya. The landscape is strikingly beautiful, with palm-lined riverbanks, rocky outcrops, and acacia-dotted plains.
Elephants, lions, and leopards roam freely, often gathering along the river to drink. The Samburu people, known for their colorful traditions, add cultural richness to the experience. With its remote charm, excellent game viewing, and warm, golden light, Samburu offers a truly authentic safari, wild, soulful, and distinctly Kenyan.
