Giraffe Manor & The Retreat form a truly unforgettable hospitality duo set amid Nairobi’s leafy Karen and Lang’ata suburbs. Giraffe Manor itself is a historic, storybook boutique hotel built in 1932 and now part of The Safari Collection. The property comprises 12 uniquely appointed rooms and suites, interwoven between the original Manor House and a newer Garden Manor wing. There are six rooms in the original Manor and deeply rooted in the property’s heritage, while six more are in Garden Manor.
The Manor’s defining feature is its resident herd of Rothschild’s giraffes, who often lean through windows or over breakfast tables for treats—creating dreamlike encounters few places in the world can match.
Just adjacent to the Manor lies The Retreat, a contemporary wellness-centric complement designed for rest and replenishment. The Retreat houses 4 rooms, with open layouts, private day-rooms, and access to spa facilities including sauna, steam room, hot tub, gym, and treatment rooms. A standout feature is a 21-metre pool overlooking the giraffe sanctuary—so while lounging you may glimpse a giraffe in the distance.
Guests of Giraffe Manor enjoy full access to The Retreat’s wellness amenities. Meals, soft drinks, WiFi, laundry, and visits to the neighbouring Giraffe Centre are commonly included in rates.
