Hamilton House is an exclusive-use private homestead set within five acres of mature gardens in Nairobi’s leafy Karen suburb. Originally built in 1936 as one of Karen Blixen’s estate managers’ houses, it has been carefully restored to retain its historic charm while offering the comfort, warmth, and ease of a relaxed private retreat. Designed to feel like a welcoming home, it combines character with understated luxury.

The house features five spacious en-suite bedrooms sleeping up to ten guests, including two king rooms, one queen room, and two twin rooms that can be converted into doubles. Interiors are calm and light-filled, with newly renovated bathrooms and soft, natural furnishings. Rooms open onto either the pool terrace or courtyard, creating a strong indoor-outdoor flow.

Living spaces include a comfortable sitting room, dining area, and TV snug, while outside a veranda, swimming pool, rose garden, and mature lawns create a peaceful setting. An outdoor bar and pizza oven add to the relaxed atmosphere. Fully staffed and fully catered, the house offers bespoke home-style dining and is ideally located in Karen, close to major Nairobi attractions and just 15 minutes from Wilson Airport.
