Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 – Dar Es Salaam
Upon arrival at Dar es salaam Airport, you will be met and transferred to Kilimanjaro Kempinski Hotel where you stay for 1 night  on Bed and breakfast

Day 2 ,3 & 4 – Dar Es Salaam – Beach Stay
This morning after breakfast, transfer by road to Ras Kutani where you will spend the next 4 nights on this beach resort. Ras Kutani is on the mainland coast of Tanzania, just a short flight south from Dar Es Salaam. Our guests have found that Ras Kutani is the perfect spot to unwind for a few days before or after a safari. The pristine beach is often almost deserted and the brilliantly blue Indian Ocean is invitingly warm. Spend 4 full days enjoying the sun and beach and other activities offered by the Resort. All meals and drinks included Overnight at Ras Kutani Beach resort

Day 5 ,6 & 7  – Selous National Park
Morning at leisure on the beach. Mid morning pick-up from Ras Kutani and transfer back to Dar es salaam Airport ( Domestic terminal). You will be assisted to check-in to your domestic flight to Selous National Park. The flight departs at 14h30 and arrives Selous at 15h15. You will be met by the camp driver/guide and transferred to the camp where you will stay for the next 4 nights. Selous Safari Camp is situated in the northern part of the Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania; this is the largest protected area in the whole of Africa. This vast, little known and largely undeveloped area is teeming with wildlife and species are more diverse than in many smaller parks. Selous Safari Camp is quite remote from other camps in Selous and has particularly good game viewing. This popular, long established, tented bush camp overlooks a small lake fed by the Rufiji River ensuring great bird-watching. The camp is split into two sections, with a main camp consisting of nine large safari tents and a smaller camp with four; all are very comfortable and have adjoining bathrooms. Both camps have their own pools, dining and lounge areas. The tents are set on raised platforms and are well separated, providing complete privacy. At Selous Safari Camp you can choose from game drives in open topped vehicles, walking safaris and boat trips. The camp is very quiet and a stay here will suit anybody who likes to travel to areas well away from the usual tourist destinations. The Rufiji River is a haven for birds and has a high concentration of crocodile and hippo.  Wildlife viewing on land is especially good between June and October and includes wild dog, lion, elephant and giraffe. All meals and overnight at Selous Safari Camp

Day 8 & 9 Ruaha National Park
Breakfast at the camp and thereafter transfer to Kiba Airstrip for your scheduled flight departing at 09h30 to Ruaha National park. The flight arrives at Ruaha at 11h30. You will be met and transferred to Jongomero Tented Camp.
Ruaha, at 12,950km², is only marginally smaller than the Serengeti; it is a part of a huge eco-system, with the bordering Kizigo, Usangu and Rungwa game reserves. Ruaha is without doubt one of the finest national parks in Africa. This is pristine and untouched Africa, The Park’s remoteness keeps it wild and untouched and the lodges are small and quite. Ruaha is visually beautiful, with rocky outcrops and mountain ranges giving it a topography that ranges from 750m to 1,900m. The focal point of the reserve is the Great Ruaha River, with its deep gorges, rapids and rich wildlife. With over 10,000 elephants, 30,000 buffaloes, big populations of lions, wild dogs and leopards, ever apparent greater kudu antelopes and hundreds of bird species Ruaha is a natural paradise. Ruaha is remote and the drive there long, driving to Ruaha is only really feasible on a full safari circuit to the south. Most clients visit it by light aircraft, using game packages of the local camps and lodges. Seasonality: The best time to visit is between July and November when the animals congregate around the water holes, but the park is stunning all year round. Jongomero Camp enjoys a fabulous setting in and along the Tanzanian section of the Great Rift Valley in Ruaha National Park. Tourists are scarce in this area so viewing the rare wildlife species found here is a truly exclusive experience. The tall acacia trees shading the camp are typical of this remote area in the south western sector of the park. All meals and accommodation and activities at Jongomero Tented Camp

Day 10 – Arusha
Another early morning game drive to complete your list of Ruaha sightings. Return to the camp for breakfast and thereafter transfer to the Airstrip for your scheduled flight departing at 11h45 back to Dar es salaam Airport where you will arrive at 14h20 and connect another scheduled flight departing at 17h10 to Kilimanjaro Airport in Arusha. Gain an overview of Africa on your plane ride to Arusha. On arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport at 19h10, you will be assisted to clear customs and immigration formalities. Transfer by road to the Arusha Coffee Lodge where you stay for the night on bed and breakfast

Day 11, 12 & 13 – Mahale Mountains
Transfer to the Arusha Airport and board your shared charter flight to Mahale Mountains National Park. There are few places left on earth that might rightfully be called Eden, and the Mahale Mountains is one of them. The mountains soar to 8,000 feet above the clear waters of Lake Tanganyika, which at 420 miles long and 30 miles wide, is a veritable inland sea. The nearest road is almost 100kms away, and that is the most minor of tracks.
The slopes of the Mahale Mountains rise behind camp, home to the world's largest known population of chimpanzees. Within hiking distance is one such group of 60. Every day you can venture out into this deep and magical forest to observe them, our closest relatives, as they groom, wrestle and forage across the leafy floor.
Mahale is a physical place, but strangely undemanding. Perhaps because it seems to have been created for Great Apes; figs, flowers, sun, shade, water.  The forest itself is special, with eight other species of primate, shyer forest mammals, birds, butterflies, giant vines and waterfalls. And if a day’s ‘chimping’ isn’t enough, you can take a gentle forest hike, go fishing or kayak along the lake shore. Overnight at Nkungwe Tented Camp on full board basis.

Day 14 – Arusha
Today fly back to Arusha by a shared charter flight. On Arrival at Arusha Airport at 18h30 you will be met by Airport staff and assisted to transfer by road to Arusha Coffee Lodge where you stay for one night on bed and breakfast.

Day 15 - Depart
After breakfast pick-up from your lodge and transfer back to Arusha Airport where you will take your flight back to Dar to connect onto your home bound departure flight.
