Mount Kenya Safari
Club is a two and
a half hour drive
from Nairobi. Alternatively,
it is a fifty minute
flight to Nanyuki
airstrip and
a fifteen minute
transfer drive

Sweetwaters Tented Camp Sweetwaters
Tented Camp lies
in the heart of
privately owned
22,000 acre Sweetwaters
Game Reserve, enjoying
magnificent views
across the game-studded
plains to the snow-capped
peaks of Mount
Kenya.
Overlooking
a floodlit waterhole,
the camp offers
visitors an unforgettable
opportunity to
watch and photograph
animals in their
natural habitat.
Accommodation
is provided in
30 luxuriously
appointed tents,
set under thatch,
with en suite
facilities and
private verandah.
Each tent overlooks
the waterhole.
Within the quaint,
original farmhouse
is the dining room,
bar and reception.

The Ark It
is set in thick
woodland, at the
heart of the Aberdare
National Park.
It is designed
with numerous viewing
decks, balconies
and lounges that
allow you to watch
animals visiting
the waterhole and
salt-lick.
It has
60 ‘cabin-styled’ rooms,
comprising 6 single,
36 twin, 10 double
and 8 triple-bedded
cabins. All rooms
have private bathrooms
with shower, are
comfortably furnished
and enjoy a view
of the forest or
waterhole. It has
a dining room a
lounge and a bar.
Mountain Lodge This lodge is located
in indigenous forest
7200 feet up in the
foothills of the
Mt Kenya National
Reserve. It is a
4-storey timber structure
and overlooks a natural
waterhole and salt
lick surrounded by
dense forest that
comes alive at dusk
with a myriad of
sounds of creatures
of all sizes. On
a clear day you can
see jagged peaks
of Mt Kenya’s
summit through the
trees. The lodge
is rustic and natural.
Walls are covered
with yellow reeds,
and there are timber
columns and dim lighting.
The atmosphere is
casual with friendly
service. There are
3 public areas for
watching game. Game
most frequently seen
include: buffalo,
elephant, rhino,
forest hogs, wuni,
red duiker, spotted
hyena, leopard, lion
and a wide variety
of birdlife. Accommodation
is in 42 rooms with
ensuite bath and
shower facilities.
All rooms face the
waterhole. It has
a bar, restaurant,
gift shop.
Treetops Hotel
The oldest and most
famous game viewing
lodge overlooks
a waterhole and
saltlick high in
the Aberdare National
Park. Treetops
is the original
tree lodge, built
in 1932 and legendary
for its historical
connection, for
the animals it
attracts and for
the sheer joy of
exploring a tree
house visited by
rhino, elephant,
buffalo, lion,
bushbuck and many
other animal species.
The excitement
of Treetops stems
from the fact that
the animals don’t
realize you exist
and they approach
you fearlessly.
There are several
observation areas
and game viewing
platforms on each
floor. Accommodation
is in 40 double
rooms, 8 triple
rooms and 2 suites.
All rooms share
bathrooms except
for suites which
have their own
shower, toilet
and washbasin.

room, bars, shops.
The Aberdare Country
Club A three hour drive
from Nairobi, on
a good paved road.
The Aberdare Country
Club nestles on the
slopes of Mweiga
Hill. All rooms and
cottages have spectacular
views of the plains
below, the Aberdare
mountains to the
West and Mount Kenya
to the East. With

1300 acre wildlife
sanctuary abounds
with Thompson and
Grant’s gazelle,
zebra, giraffe and
